Capitol Area R-TAC Team

DeShannus Gray

DeShannus Gray has joined the SCOE Community Schools Capitol Area R-TAC team as our Coordinator for Teaching and Learning. While new to our team, for the past three years he has served as the Statewide SEL Coordinator, supporting policy, advocacy, technical assistance, coaching, training, and practitioner convenings across California.

With 18 years of experience in education, DeShannus brings expertise in expanded learning, restorative practices, school climate and culture, counseling, and educational leadership. His experience includes serving as a site leader, guidance counselor, and assistant principal at both the elementary and secondary levels. In his new role, DeShannus will support Community Schools implementation through technical assistance, professional learning, communities of practice, and coaching.
