Jazmin Hernandez Lavezzo, M.A.Ed., is a Director of Partner Impact at the Center for Whole-Child Education, a part of Arizona State University’s Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College. She is deeply committed to whole-child design and purpose and supporting the wellness of adults who serve our youth.
She joined Turnaround for Children (the precursor to the Center for Whole-Child Education) in 2021. In her current role, Hernandez Lavezzo leads statewide and national projects around literacy and integrating academics and whole-child.
Prior to joining Turnaround, Hernandez Lavezzo worked in schools in the Los Angeles area and SF Bay area. She has taught pre-K, elementary, and middle school. Most recently, she was a district leader serving and supporting schools across the Bay Area. She has been an elementary school administrator as well as a founding lead teacher, instructional coach, and family coordinator, and taught ESL to adults. Throughout her career, Jazmin has believed that all students are brilliant and that schools should support a whole-child purpose.
She received a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies/Political Science and minors in Spanish and Nonprofit Management from Pepperdine University while graduating with academic honors, and a Master of Arts in Urban Education from Loyola Marymount University. She is an alumnus of Teach for America and New Leaders for New Schools.
