Kirsten Thomas-Acke

Kirsten Thomas-Acke serves as the Director of Integrated Support Programs at the Placer County Office of Education, where she leads both the California Integrated Supports Project (CA-ISP) and the Community Schools work as part of the Capitol Area Regional Technical Assistance Center (RTAC).

CA-ISP is a statewide professional learning grant in partnership with the California Department of Education, CA MTSS, and WestEd. This CA MTSS–funded initiative integrates culturally relevant practices, social-emotional learning, and trauma-informed approaches by providing high-quality professional development at district and site levels through regional technical assistance centers.

Through the Capitol Area RTAC, Kirsten also advances Community Schools, supporting schools and districts in building strong partnerships with families and communities to create inclusive, student-centered environments that address the whole child.

With over 30 years of experience as a principal, vice principal, and teacher leader, Kirsten brings deep expertise in both Title I and non-Title I school contexts. Her lived experiences have cultivated a passion for supporting educators, students, families, and communities through a lens of equity, equality, and community school practices.
