Mary Pedraza serves as the Director of the Community Schools Initiative at the Sacramento County Office of Education, leading the Capitol Area Regional Transformational Assistance Center (R-TAC) for the California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP). Prior to this role, she was a Director for the Stanislaus Cradle to Career Partnership at the Stanislaus County Office of Education, building bridges for community, parent and educational leaders to meaningfully understand each others’ perspectives in service of population-level outcomes.
Drawing on over 25 years of experience in public education, including roles in site and district leadership, Mary brings a deep understanding of comprehensive student support. A highlight of her career was serving as a K-8 principal in an underserved community within Stockton Unified, where she focused on building relationships and piloting innovative whole-child approaches. Her work in Stanislaus County further deepened her expertise in fostering community relationships, building capacity through training and facilitation, and promoting collaborative decision-making among partners. Mary is passionate about driving educational innovation through collaboration, shared leadership, and transformational practices.
