Dr. Navdeep Purewal serves as the Director of the Community Schools Initiative at the Sacramento County Office of Education leading the Captiol Area Regional Transformational Assistance Center (R-TAC) for the California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP). Previously, she served as the Chief of Learning Services and member of Superintendent’s Cabinet at the Alameda County Office of Education, spearheading the design and leadership of the CCSPP State Transformational Assistance Center, and overseeing the Core Learning (Early Learning, Curriculum & Instruction, College & Career Readiness) and Social & Emotional Learning departments.
Additionally, Navdeep has led Early Learning and Expanded Learning programs within a district and attributes her experiences as a classroom teacher to her solid foundation and understanding in the value of transforming schools to communities. She strongly believes that for learners to develop their full academic and social potential, it is essential that all students and families have equitable access to whole-child supports and services. Navdeep is a dedicated advocate for policies, programs, and practices that reinforce her commitment to advancing equity, inclusion, and diversity.
